Privacy-First Design

LobsterPot is designed with privacy as a core principle. We don't collect, store, or have access to your personal data.

What We DON'T Collect

  • Chat messages — All communication is directly between your device and your OpenClaw instance
  • Personal information — No names, emails, phone numbers, or other personal data
  • Location data — LobsterPot doesn't access or store location information
  • Device information — No device fingerprinting or tracking
  • Usage analytics — No tracking of how you use the app
  • Crash reports — No automatic crash reporting to our servers

How Your Data Flows

📱 LobsterPot App ↔️ Your OpenClaw Instance 🤖

Direct connection • No intermediary servers • Your data stays with you

When you use LobsterPot, your messages and data go directly to your own OpenClaw gateway. App Factory Dev never sees or handles this communication.

Local Storage Only

LobsterPot stores some information locally on your device for functionality:

  • Gateway connection settings — URLs and tokens to connect to your OpenClaw instance
  • App preferences — Theme, notification settings, etc.
  • Message cache — Recent messages for offline viewing (stored locally)

This data never leaves your device and is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app.

Waitlist Information

If you join our waitlist, we collect only:

  • Your email address
  • Your platform preference (iOS/Android)

This information is used solely to notify you when LobsterPot is available. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we'll delete your information upon request.

Third-Party Services

LobsterPot may use these third-party services:

  • App Store / Google Play — For app distribution (subject to their privacy policies)
  • Web3Forms — For waitlist signups (they process form submissions but don't store data)
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — For push notifications (when implemented)

These services operate independently and have their own privacy policies.

Open Source Transparency

LobsterPot is open source. You can:

  • Review the entire codebase to verify our privacy claims
  • Build and distribute your own version
  • Contribute improvements to privacy and security
  • Report any privacy concerns via GitHub issues

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there's no personal information to access, correct, or delete from our systems. However, you can:

  • Clear the app's local cache and settings
  • Unsubscribe from the waitlist
  • Delete the app to remove all local data
  • Contact us with questions or concerns

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we'll announce them in our GitHub repository. Since LobsterPot is designed to be privacy-first, any changes will maintain or improve privacy protections.
